Saturday, August 22, 2026, with Exciting Night of Boxing and Entertainment to Raise Awareness and Funds in the Fight against Cancer

LOS ANGELES (July 23, 2026) – A stacked card featuring undefeated fighters and up-and-coming prospects will be on full display during the annual “Butterfly Brawl”, which returns under the lights of the iconic Santa Monica Pier on Saturday, August 22.

“Butterfly Brawl” is promoted by Fightbook and its founder and President Mark Habibi, in association with Bash Boxing. Once again, all net ticket proceeds and sponsorship dollars will go toward the fight against cancer benefiting Teen Cancer America.

Tickets for “Butterfly Brawl” are now on-sale and can be purchased at: https://events.ticketsexpress.net/e/butterfly-brawl0822/tickets.

“The Butterfly Brawl has become so much more than just boxing,” Habibi said. “It’s a chance for our community to come together, enjoy an incredible night of fights and entertainment, and at the same time make a real difference in the lives of young people battling cancer. We’re proud that every sponsor, every ticket, and everyone who shows up is helping support Teen Cancer America while giving these fighters an opportunity to perform on one of the most unique stages in the sport.”

Joining the can’t-miss slate of fights, former two-time world champion Julio Cesar Martinez (20-4, 15 KOs) from Mexico City squares off against Santa Ana’s Mario Hernandez (13-8, 4 KOs) in an eight-round bantamweight contest.

In a battle of Lynwood 168-pounders, Art Barrera Jr. (12-0, 9 KOs) will take on Brian Agustin Arregui (12-8, 7 KOs). Criztec Bazaldua (7-2, 2 KOs) from Los Angeles faces off against Sachin Rohila (8-5) from Stockton in a contest at 140 pounds. Abel Alba (3-0) from Hesperia is matched against Mississippi’s Terry Brister (debut) at super flyweight.

Twin brothers originally from Fresno now training in Las Vegas, Golden Boy-promoted middleweight prospects Nikolai (3-0, 3 KOs) and Sebastian Terteryan (1-0, 1 KOs) will both be in action and hoping to extend their KO streaks with each of their professional fights ending in knockouts.

Los Angeles’ Steven Navarro (8-1, 5 KOs) returns to the ring in an eight-round super flyweight attraction against an opponent to be named. Other A-side fighters awaiting opponents to be announced include DeAngelo Evans (15-0, 14 KOs) from Danville, Va., Tommy Hyde (13-0, 8 KOs) from Los Angeles, Jason Robledo (1-0) from Mission Hills, Whittier’s Sasha Martha Saldana (3-0, 1 KO), Atascadero’s Joseph Subia (4-1-1, 3 KOs), the surging Ebenezer Griffith (8-0, 3 KOs) from Louisville, Ky., and Jalan Walker (16-1-1, 11 KOs) from Los Angeles. Three fighters making their pro debuts include New York’s Aliko Shakur, Los Angeles’ Ilene Herrera and Raymon Mosquera from Las Vegas.

Mixmaster Mike of the Beastie Boys will once again perform August 22 and will be joined by Stefano, Mellow Man Ace and A Lighter Shade of Brown. All-time boxing great and three-division undisputed world champion Terence “Bud” Crawford” has vowed his support of the event and will be on hand for the night of fights. Over the years, “Butterfly Brawl” has become a unique fusion of elite boxing and world-class entertainment, featuring unforgettable performances from global superstars including The Black Eyed Peas, Snoop Dogg, Anderson .Paak and Jermaine Dupri.

Originally launched in 2017, “Butterfly Ball,” was created to honor the life of Yassy Hosseini and support charitable causes. In its early years, the event benefited organizations such as City of Hope. As the event has evolved into the “Butterfly Brawl”, it now proudly supports Teen Cancer America.
