Mexican Mauricio Sulaiman, president of the World Boxing Council (WBC), was in Argentina and, among his many visits, meetings, and scheduled activities, made a special visit with his wife, Christiane Manzur, co-president of WBC Cares, to the Pedro Fiorito Hospital. They donated toys for the children hospitalized in the Pediatric ward and the hospital's playroom, and shared unforgettable moments with the children, distributing gifts and books as part of the social initiatives promoted by WBC Cares.
"Boxing is a powerful tool for social inclusion and support for children and young people, capable of providing opportunities, values, and a path to personal development," Sulaiman emphasized, also highlighting the importance of strengthening the link between sports and health to promote joint actions in the comprehensive care of athletes.
The Fiorito Hospital (officially the Pedro Fiorito General Interzonal Hospital) is one of the most important and historic public health centers in the southern part of Greater Buenos Aires, located in the city of Avellaneda, Argentina.
The hospital is deeply rooted in Argentine culture and popular memory due to the events and figures associated with it since its founding in 1913.
Sulaiman also paid an institutional visit to the Argentine Boxing Federation (FAB) and met with representatives of FECONSUR. He was accompanied on all visits by representatives of the WBC in Argentina.
Mauricio Sulaimán is on a working tour of Argentina to promote the growth and development of young boxing talent in the Southern Cone, which includes Uruguay and Argentina.
