AIM Jerick Faeldonia vying for Bangkok chess tilt

Arena International Master (AIM) Jerick Faeldonia will test his skills on the international stage as he competes in the 2nd Bangkok Summer International Standard Chess Tournament – Challenger Division in Bangkok, Thailand from July 28 to August 2 at Royal Benja Hotel Benjarong Ballroom.
Faeldonia, who hails from Upper Dapawan, Odiongan, Romblon, receives strong support from various stakeholders in the province, including Governor Trina Firmalo-Fabic, Sta. Fe Romblon Chess Knights, J&A Warehouse (Looc, Romblon), AngelFritz Roofing System (Odiongan, Romblon), the Municipal Engineering Department of San Jose, Romblon, Romblon Chess Federation President, Banton Vice Mayor James Fadrilan and family friends Dr. Johnah Galicia, Engr. Mario Soriano Jr., DILG MLGOO Carlito Faina Jr., Odiongan Budget Officer Bobby Flores, Brgy Dapawan Chairwoman Anna Lee Forlales, and CPA Kriz "Dodoy" Villareal.
Jerick, a Grade 11 student at Arellano University and a member of the university's NCAA chess team under the guidance of Coach IA/FM/NM Rudy Ibanez, will be accompanied in Thailand by NM/USNM & AGM Almario Marlon Bernardino Jr.
This international competition marks another important milestone in Jerick's chess career as he aims to improve his FIDE Elo rating and move closer to his dream of becoming the first FIDE Master from Odiongan, Romblon.
"I hope to do well in this event and gain some elo rating points," said the soft-spoken Jerick, seeing in action in the Bangkok Open Standard Challenger division which participated by 175 Players from 28 countries organized by Nick Cholapat Chongstitwattana.
His very supportive proud father Engr . Ernie Fetisan Faeldonia had something to say to his son.
