Donnie Nietes (40-1-4, 22 KOs) will face Juan Carlos Reveco (39-3, 19 KOs) as his next opponent by virtue of the Argentine's victory over Komgrich Nantapech by unanimous decision last week in Argentina. The scores of 120-108, 118-110 and 117-111 led to a very convincing triumph and gave Reveco the chance to become the mandatory challenger for Nietes' IBF world flyweight title. Nietes won his third title belt last April 29 when he defeated Nantapech in Cebu City.

With Reveco winning, it's going to be an exciting fight with Nietes," said Aldeguer of Nietes' mandatory defense against Reveco as told by Rappler. The 34-year-old Reveco is a former WBA flyweight titleholder. The Argentinian fighter was very aggressive and active in piling up points during the clash with the Thai opponent, winning through an impressive fashion.

ALA Boxing Gym trainer Edito Villamor explained that they have started their training for the 34-year-old Reveco as the challenger for Nietes? IBF title. ?So far, we?re starting our rigid training after learning that our opponent will be Reveco. It?s not going to be an easy opponent. We?re still finalizing everything regarding the fight date and venue,? Villamor was quoted by Manila Times.

He cautioned that they should be careful because Reveco is a former WBA world flyweight champion. He defeated Latin American fighters who have good career records too. ?He has a great boxing style and strong, so we have to be cautious. He is a former world champion,? Villamor added.

Juan Carlos Reveco is from Las Heras, Mendoza, Argentina and won his professional debut by a 3rd round TKO of compatriot Ernesto Daniel Maldonado in April 2004. He won the WBA Fedelatin light flyweight title via split decision over Venezuelan Freddy Beleno on May 2006. He won the vacant WBA world light flyweight title by an 8th round KO of Thai Nethra Sasiprapa on June 2007.

Reveco defended the title againt Mexican Humberto Pool by 5th round KO but lost it to French Brahim Asluom by unanimous decision on December 2007. He became interim WBA world light flyweight champion by split decision over Mexican Francisco Rosas on August 2009 and defended it two times before being elevated as WBA interim flyweight champ by Venezuelan Jean Piero Perez by 2nd round KO on June 2011.

Reveco went on to win the WBA world flyweight title by a unanimous decision victory over Japanese Masayuki Korada on February 2014. He successfully defended it five times before losing it to Japanese Kazuto Ioka by majority decision on April 2015. During their rematch on December 2015, he lost again by an 11th round TKO.

He later claimed the IBF Latino flyweight title defeating Diego Luis Pichardo Liriano of Dominican Republic and annexed the South American superflyweight title beating Jesus Vargas of Venezuela both by unanimous decision. Both Reveco and Nietes scored emphatic wins over common foe Nantapech, so its interesting to see both winning fighters when they collide for the IBF title.

Freddie Roach had Gennady Golovkin winning over Canelo Alvarez in his own scorecard. "Pretty good fight, I had 'Triple G' winning by two points, it was a close fight," Roach said to BoxingScene at his Wild Card Boxing Club in Hollywood, California. "It was definitely entertaining. Alvarez moved quite a bit more than I thought he would carrying all that weight. He was in pretty good shape."

The draw which could lead to a rematch in May next year was not his ward Miguel Cotto would want because the Puerto Rican wanted to face the winner of the GGG-Canelo fight. "It is because they'll have to do it again and everyone has to pretty much wait in line now," said Roach. When asked if it was tough to beat Alvarez on the scorecards in Las Vegas, Roach replied: "It's very tough to beat 'Canelo' in the United States."

Bob Arum told BoxingScene that Manny Pacquiao would no longer fight Jeff Horn in Australia. "Pacquiao up to this point made it plain he's not coming over to fight in Australia," announced the veteran promoter. He does not see the possibility of Pacquiao-Horn 2 in Las Vegas as Arum stated: "No, he doesn't want to fight in Vegas, either. He wants to fight in the Philippines and with the peso being 52 peso's to the dollar - how the hell is everybody going to get paid, let alone him?"

With Pacquiao not fighting Horn this year the Top Rank boss is planning to match the Australian WBO welterweight champion with undisputed light welterweight champion Terence Crawford. "We're going to meet with Terrence and we're going to lay out a plan starting early next year leading towards a welterweight championship match, probably with Jeff Horn," said Arum.
