The 18th edition of the Kamatyas FIDE Rated Open Chess Tournament on December 13

The 18th edition of the Kamatyas FIDE Rated Open Chess Tournament dubbed as Year Ender Chess Festival 2025 will be held on December 13, 2025.

The Open 7 Round Swiss System Tournament , organized by International Master Roderick Nava and National Master David Almirol Jr., of the Kamatyas Chess Club, has a top prize of P30,000 plus a trophy.

"Free registration and lunch to all participating players, " said IM Nava.

"Limited to 500 players only," he added.

The second to fifth placers will receive P15,000, P10,000, P7,000 and P5,000, respectively.

The sixth to 10th placers will receive P2,500 each, while the 11th to 15th placers will earn P1,500 each.

P5,000 each are up for grabs for the top performer in Juniors, Ladies and Kiddies division.

Raffles open to all at the awarding with the jackpots winner will bring home P10,000.

Other consolation prizes are P5,000 (1 winner), P2,000 each (2 winners) and P1,000 each (10 winners).-Marlon Bernardino-
