Cebuano super flyweight sensation Z "The Dream" Gorres coasted to a one-sided unanimous decision against Deeden Kengkarun of Thailand in last night's boxing event at the San Andres Sports and Civic Center in Manila dubbed as "The Return of the Z".

According to reports coming out from the ringside, Gorres had sent Kengkarun to the canvas in the 2nd round but he suffered a cut above his left eyebrow in the 3rd round due to an accidental headbutt. The highly skillful and stylish Z Gorres dominated the contest the rest of the way before earning a lop-sided decision from the three judges. Judges Epie Almeda, Ricardo Canlas and Dennis Principe had identical scores of 100-88 for Z.

Gorres, 23, can now look forward to challenging the winner of the Masayuki Arinaga vs. Daisuke Maruyama Oriental and Pacific Boxing Federation (OPBF) title bout scheduled to take place in Tokyo on August 22. The Gorres camp had indicated however that if any offer for a world title bout will take place, they will take it.
