Beltran, Prado rule Samal Half Marathon

JOY Beltran of Tupi, South Cotabato and Lloyd Prado of Digos ruled the Samal Half Marathon held last March 8 at the New City Hall of Penaplata, Island Garden City of Samal.

Beltran won the women’s open 21-kilomenter race by beating early favorite May Angelie Mag-aso of Davao City.

Mag-aso, who topped the Legacy Run Half Marathon last March 1 settled for second place.

Third was Dyrenne Jayne Lago of Davao City.

Prado, on the other hand, dominated the men’s open 21k.

Second was Joerge Andrade of Digos followed by Rommnick Tongkaling of Sta. Cruz, Davao del Sur.

Meanwhile, Elmer Bartolo of Davao and Rachel Subere of Tagum topped the 10K event.

Bartolo won the men’s division followed by Mark Angelo Camponion and Alfrin James Prudente as second and third, respectively.

Subere was the women’s champion followed by Renalyn Lausan [2nd] and Erlyn Joy Untalan [3rd].

The event was organized by R2G Events in coordination with KinetixSports and the Local Government Unit of Samal.
