World Boxing Futures Cup in Bangkok Update

More than 100 male and female boxers have competed in the first two days of the 2026 World Boxing Futures Cup in Bangkok, Thailand. The tournament is part of the qualification process for the 2026 Youth Olympic Games, to be held in Dakar, Senegal, in November, and is for boxers born between January 1, 2008, and December 31, 2009.

More than 500 athletes from 85 nations are participating in the tournament.

There were 53 bouts on the first day, with four boxers from Uzbekistan advancing to the next round. Kazakhstan, India, Japan, and Australia each secured three victories.

On the second day, 63 bouts took place across the women's 57 kg category and the men's 55 kg, 60 kg, and 65 kg categories. Kazakhstan and Ukraine each secured four victories, while Uzbekistan achieved three.

The Mexican U-19 national team is participating with five women and five men.
