Jaca, Lunas victorious in Barili

Former OPBF super bantam boss Jimrex Jaca and former PABA flyweight champ Rolly Lunas of Wakee Salud stable fashioned out separate knockout victories against their rivals in last night's Barili town fiesta boxing extravaganza. Jaca hardly worked out a sweat when he disposed Renato Maghuyop in the 2nd round of their scheduled 10-round super featherweight encounter by unleashing a well-timed and vicious body shot that sent Maghuyop to the canvas on all fours. Referee Teddy Alivio counted Maghuyop out as Maghuyop, currently rated number 4 lightweight contender by PBF, was still catching his breath at the count of 10. Jaca now improved his record to 23-1-1 win-loss-draw spiked with 10 knockouts.

Maghuyop was still in pain as he was counted out by referee Teddy Alivio.

Jaca stood in a neutral corner as his opponent was being counted by the referee.

Lunas, on the other hand, was relieved when the referee finally stopped the contest on the 8th stanza as his opponent, Jaime Acerda of Bukidnon, seemed to be intent on running around the ring and showboating instead of actually fighting. Lunas had connected with some good combinations to the head and body of Acerda but couldn't finished off the slippery rival who had always stayed at a safe distance. Lunas' TKO victory had earned him his 19th win against 5 losses. Acerda dropped to 9-21-0 win-loss-draw.

Lunas delivered a combination to the head and body of Acerda in this bit of action.

In the other encounters, Wakee Salud's Jerope Mercado won against Cagayan de Oro's Jun Mala and Allan Jay Tu?acao vs. Jumar Labiogo was declared a draw.
