The WBC minifly title fight between unbeaten Fil-Am and former U.S. Olympian Brian Viloria and defending champ Eric Ortiz will finally take place in the undercard of the Morales/Pacquiao doubleheader on September 10 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
The announcement was made by promoter Bob Arum at today's press conference for the Erik Morales vs. Zahir Raheem / Manny Pacquiao vs. Hector Velasquez doubleheader, according to FightNews.com. The bout was originally scheduled this Saturday, July 30, under the "Million Dollar Lady" Martin-Rijker card at the MGM Grand but was cancelled when the event was scrapped due to Lucia Rijker having injured her achilles tendon during training.
According to the report, the Viloria-Ortiz fight will be aired internationally but will not be seen on HBO.
This is Brian Viloria's most anticipated fight so far as he tries to wrest a title for the first time in his professional career.
