ORLANDO, FL (June 18, 2026) – Undefeated Cuban middleweight Pedro Veitia (8-0-1, 8 KOs) delivered another impressive performance this past Saturday night, overwhelming previously unbeaten Taiwo Afolabi (6-1, 6 KOs) en route to a sensational stoppage victory at the Caribe Royale Resort in Orlando, Florida.
The scheduled six-round middleweight bout took place as part of an event co-promoted by Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) and Boxlab Promotions and streamed live on ESPN+.
From the opening bell, Veitia, who is co-promoted with Boxlab Promotions, Warriors Boxing, and Dreambigg Promotions, showcased the skill, composure, and relentless pressure that have quickly made him one of the most exciting young prospects in the middleweight division. Facing an opponent who entered the ring with a perfect record and a 100-percent knockout ratio, Veitia methodically broke down Afolabi with sharp combinations, accurate body work, and disciplined ring generalship.

Although still early in his professional career, Veitia believes he is steadily positioning himself among the division's emerging contenders. Discussing his long-term goals, the talented Cuban expressed confidence in the direction his career is heading.
"I'm not looking too far ahead," said Veitia. "I'm focused on working hard, winning fights, and improving every time I compete. I know there are still bigger challenges ahead, but I believe I'm on the right path. I want to keep growing as a fighter, stay active, and earn my way toward bigger fights and higher rankings."

"I want to get back in the ring as soon as possible," said Veitia. "Right now, the most important thing for me is staying busy and continuing to gain experience. Every fight helps me learn and become a better fighter. I'm feeling great, I'm motivated, and I want to keep this momentum going. Hopefully I can fight again later this summer because I believe the more active I stay, the faster I'll move toward bigger opportunities and eventually a shot at a title."
