PCCI Las Piñas Leaders to Visit Lipa for the June 20 JCI Rapid Chess Tournament

The Lipa chess community is honored to welcome distinguished guests from the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) – Las Piñas Chapter during the upcoming June 20 JCI Rapid Chess Tournament in Lipa City.
Leading the delegation are PCCI Las Piñas Chapter President Roger Reyes and Chairman Myra Miranda, who will personally travel to Lipa to support and watch their team compete in this exciting event.
President Roger Reyes is not only a respected business leader but also a passionate chess patron and supporter of Philippine chess. He previously sponsored Filipino Grandmaster Daniel Quizon in one of his tournaments in Abu Dhabi, highlighting his commitment to helping Filipino chess talents gain greater exposure and opportunities.
Adding a special connection to Lipa City, Roger Reyes is also a Past President of JCI Senate Lipa and was the pioneer behind the creation of the 1st JCI Senate Lipa Rapid Chess Tournament. His vision and initiative helped establish a competitive chess event that contributed to the growth of the sport in the city and inspired many local players to pursue chess more seriously.
Coincidentally, Grandmaster Daniel Quizon, whom Roger previously supported, will be one of the featured guests in Lipa City and will conduct a special simultaneous chess exhibition before the tournament. This unique opportunity will allow selected players to experience competing against one of the country’s finest chess players and gain valuable lessons from the encounter.
