The 19th edition of the Kamatyas Rapid Open and Kiddies Chess Tournament on March 28, 2026

The 19th edition of the Kamatyas Rapid Open and Kiddies Chess Tournament 2026 will be held on March 28, 2026 at Vista Mall, Sta. Rosa, Laguna Infront of Nuvali.

The Open 7 Round Swiss System Tournament, organized by International Master Roderick Nava and National Master David Almirol Jr., of the Kamatyas Chess Club, has a top prize of P30,000 plus a trophy.

"No free food will be provided. Instead, participants will receive a free T-shirt featuring the 19th edition Kamatyas souvenir design," said IM Nava.

"Raffle Prizes worth P10,000 during the awarding ceremony. Free registration with T-shirt," he added.

The second to fourth placers will receive P10,000, P7,000, and P5,000, respectively.

The 5th to 10th placers will receive P2,000 each, while the 11th to 15th placers will earn P1,000 each.

P2,000 each are up for grabs for the top performer in Juniors, Ladies and Senior divisions.

The kiddies champion will earn P3,000 while 2nd to 5th place will each pocket P 1,500, P1,000, P500 and P500, respectively.
