Aurora, CO – The roar of the crowd inside the Stampede Center on Sunday night, October 12, told the story of a star on the rise. Undefeated middleweight prospect Blazen Rocili, widely known as the “Filipino Giant”, delivered yet another emphatic performance, stopping seasoned veteran Orlando Salgado via 2nd-round TKO (corner stoppage).
The fight opened with intensity as Salgado came out aggressive, pressing the action and trying to set the tone with sharp combinations in the opening round. While he had moments of success, Rocili utilized his superior reach and footwork to avoid sustained damage. Midway through the second round, Rocili began to walk down Salgado, unleashing relentless flurries to the body that visibly slowed the veteran. Trainer Rich Barrientes, a veteran coach with decades in the sport, was equally confident in his fighter’s future. “You’re looking at a future world champion,” Barrientes stated. “Blazen can’t be stopped in this division. He’s tall, strong, and smart — and he listens. That’s a dangerous combination. We’ve only scratched the surface of what he’s capable of.”
Now sitting at 9-0, with 7 knockouts, Rocili continues to climb the middleweight rankings with power, resilience, and growing momentum. With this victory, Rocili is poised for bigger fights and brighter lights in the near future. His team is already in discussions for a potential return to the ring before the end of 2025, with the goal of entering 2026 as a top contender in the division.
