A huge start to Autumn is in store for fight fans as Matchroom Boxing today announces four new global dates during September to October – live worldwide on the home of boxing, DAZN.
A big double header gets the programme started on Saturday, September 6, with Team GB Olympic hero Pat McCormack headlining in his hometown of Sunderland at Sunderland Live when he meets Miguel Parra before we head across the Atlantic to Mexico, where Eduardo 'Sugar' Nunez makes the first defence of his IBF World Junior Lightweight Title against Christopher Diaz in Los Mochis.
Joining McCormack on the card in Sunderland are some of Matchroom Boxing’s finest young talent with Heavyweight sensation Leo Atang, Bantamweight wonderkids Tiah-Mai Ayton and Adam Maca and Lightweight star Cameron Vuong all in action – along with the professional debut of York Cruiserweight prospect, Brad Casey. Plus, former WBO World Welterweight queen, Sandy Ryan takes on the undefeated Jade Grierson and English Super-Middleweight Champion Mark Dickinson puts his belt on the line for a first time against fellow North-East rival Troy Williamson.
The following week sees the historic all-Irish World Title showdown at Belfast’s Clearer Twist National Stadium at Windsor Park when Lewis Crocker and Paddy Donovan collide for the vacant IBF World Welterweight Championship on a blockbuster night that features the pro debut of Molly McCann, along with Cruiserweight sensation Pat Brown and a host of other exciting bouts – including Ishamel Davis vs Caoimhín Agyarko.
October kickstarts with a monumental Heavyweight dust-up as the ‘Cinderella Man’ Dave Allen takes centre stage at Sheffield’s Utilita Arena where the WBA Inter-Continental Heavyweight ruler faces a 6ft 5½ in beast from the East in Arslanbek Makhmudov.
Just six days later, on Friday, October 17, a powder keg main event awaits at London’s iconic York Hall, where Matchroom Boxing returns to the legendary East End venue for the first time since December 2019. Northampton’s Kieron Conway bids to extend his hot streak of five successive victories when he takes on the undefeated, rising Middleweight star George Liddard for the British & Commonwealth Championships.
Further undercard fights and further details, including rounds and ticket information, for each event will be published in due course. For any interview requests, please contact Matty Lawless and Caitlin Bennett (UK), and Anthony Leaver (USA).

Matchroom Sport chairman Eddie Hearn
“We are proud to deliver a brilliant line-up of Boxing – all available on the undisputed home of the sport, DAZN. There are some huge fights to look forward to – Sugar Nunez defending his title for the first time. Pat McCormack headlining in his hometown. Kieron Conway and Geroge Liddard going head-to-head. And perhaps none more bigger than Dave Allen against Arslanbek Makhmudov. To be honest, I think Dave is absolutely mad for taking this fight. In fact, he might just be one of the strangest men I’ve ever met.
I gave him a list of very good fighters – he chose the biggest puncher and the most dangerous one of the whole list! I know we will see the best version of Dave Allen for this though. He’s motivated. He’s prepared to put everything and more into this one. It’s high risk, high reward. If he beats this guy then I expect him to get a massive seven-figure fight off the back of it. It will be an all-out war and Sheffield’s Utilita Arena will be absolutely rocking. As will Sunderland Live and Los Mochis on September 6 and, of course, the iconic York Hall on October 17, where we return for the first time in six years. We’re taking our fight nights across the country and fight fans are in for a real treat over the coming months."
Alfie Sharman, DAZN VP
“It has been an incredible year so far for DAZN. We see ourselves as the global home of boxing, and with these fantastic shows-all part of your subscription-we help to build upon an incredible six months which has seen us broadcast the biggest names, in the biggest fights to fans worldwide.”
Dave Allen
“I’m buzzing to headline Sheffield’s Utilita Arena. It’s always been a dream of mine. I'm a big boxing fan and I’ve seen the likes of Prince Nasem Hamed, Kell Brook and Dalton Smith top the bill there over the years. So for me to have my name up there headlining at what is practically my home arena is amazing. And with that, I wanted to have the biggest fight possible. In Arslanbek Makhmudov I think it really is the biggest test available. He looks the part. He’s had some very good wins and he has a high world ranking. A win over him will put me right up there on the world stage. It might be a shot to nothing. And I might go in as the underdog. But I’m up for it. It’s one last shot at the big time for me."
Arslanbek Makhmudov
"I'm grateful for the opportunity to face a true warrior like David Allen on October 11. I know he won’t shy away from going to war with me. But enough talk — it’s time to hunt, and soon, it’ll be time to have my hand raised."
Makhmudov’s promoter and Eye of the Tiger President, Camille Estephan
"Arslanbek Makhmudov proved he is back at the top of his game in his last fight, knocking out an undefeated Olympian in under a round. While Dave Allen has shown he's one of the toughest heavyweights in the world today, we are confident he won’t be able to withstand the power that 'The Lion' will unleash in the UK on October 11."
Pat McCormack
“This is a great test for me [against Miguel Parra]. I know I need to be sharp and switched on. But I’m really looking forward to boxing back in the North-East in what is another important step towards bringing world title fights back home.”
Kieron Conway
“This fight genuinely excites me more than any of my previous fights because George has shown a little bit too much arrogance and I genuinely don’t like him so fully intend to show that and show that this is a step too far, too soon for him.”
George Liddard
“I’m really excited for this. These are the nights I was destined for. As a kid, this was everything I dreamed of so I’m going to make this happen, for sure. It’s a big night with the British & Commonwealth title on the line. I want to thank God, my team, and everybody who has helped me get this opportunity. I’m not going to let anybody down. I’m coming for those straps.”
