UNBEATEN Kurt John Pabular will make his first title defense of the Philippine Youth light flyweight title against undefeated challenger Neel Jacamos on August 12 at the Magpet Gym in Magnet, North Cotabato.

The 20-year-old Pabular [7-0-0, 4KOs] is training with chief trainer and manager Nonoy Neri at the MP Gym in Davao.

“I am training hard right now so that I can win and I don't want to lose my belt,” said Pabular of Bansalan, Davao del Sur.

He is sparring with stablemates Cristian Lagumbay and Jeffrey Takiawan.

"The opponent seems pretty strong. But all I can say is good luck to us on August 12,” said Pabular.

Pabular recently won the vacant Youth title by knocking out Noel “The Archer” Jacamos of Paranaque City in the first round last May 17 at the Elorde Sports Complex in Paranaque.

Jacamos [6-0-0, 1KO] of Amoy Stable-General Santos City recently beat by a split decision over Junny Bugas last June 8 at the Elorde Sport Complex in Paranaque.

The 8-round fight is the main event of boxing dubbed as the “Magpet Mania: Bakbakan sa Araw ng Magpet 2025”.

Five other bouts will also be added plus amateurs.

It is presented by Mayor Jay Gonzaga and the local government of Magpet.

Raides “Nonoy” Neri is the promoter with matchmaker Rodel Garde.
