Panya Pradabsri and Carlos Cañizales successfully made weight today.
They are now all set for their hot rematch tomorrow in Caracas, Venezuela.
Panya Pradabsri answers questions from the Venezuelan media.
Thailand’s world champion Panya Pradabsri tipped the scales at 107.8 pounds (48.89 kilos) while his tough challenger Carlos Cañizales came-in slightly lighter at 107.5 (48.76 kgs).
The two looked strong and ready to rumble for the World Boxing Council Light Flyweight title war at the historic Poliedro de Caracas in the heart of beautiful Venezuela, land of boxing and beauty queens.
Pradabsri (L) and Canizales face off after the weighin
Their 12-round title fight will air LIVE in Latin America on ESPN KnockOut.
As fans remember, Pradabsri (44-2, 27 KOs), and Cañizales (27-3-1, 19 KOs) battled twelve hard-fought rounds 7 months ago at the popular Rajadamnern Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
Panya was handed a majority decision win.
But fans around the world saw something different.
The scores were so controversial that WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman immediately ordered a rematch, and here we are.
THEN, what will happen tomorrow in Venezuela???
👉 Will the WBC belt-holder Panya Pradabsri of Thailand’s famous Phetchyindee Boxing Stable be able to retain his precious green ‘n golden strap in the hometown of his challenger?
👉 Or will the relentless, hard-swinging Venezuelan Carlos Cañizales clearly defeat the visiting Thai to become “The New!”?
FILIPINOS IN THE WBC 108 WORLD RANKING
Three Filipino light flyweights are in the WBC world-rankings in this hot 108 division:
Jayson Vayson (14-1-1, 8 KOs) of Agusan del Sur is WBC #9, Cebuano Christian “The Bomb” Araneta remains as WBC #11, and Manileño southpaw Arvin Magramo (19-2-1, 11 KOs) stands as WBC #12.
Who of them do you think has more chances of ever beating the winner?
Panya Pradabsri VS Carlos Cañizales II in Venezuela is going to be an interesting world title rematch. May the Best Man Win!! 🇹🇭🇻🇪👍🥊
