NEW YORK -- In the main event Danny Garcia (29-0, 16KOs) destroyed little Rod Salka now 19-4, 3KOs within 2 rounds. Salka did his best to try and box the faster, bigger, and stronger Garcia in round one. It would only be a matter of time and as expected the Predator, Garcia, was able to catch up to his elusive little rabbit, Salka. Garcia scored two knockdowns. Each time Salka elected to beat the count and continue. The Third knockdown was just too much as Salka's corner had already thrown the towel to concede the fight at 2:31 of the second round. Salka did not appear as though he would beat the count for the third knockdown. After the fight Garcia accepted Peterson's challenge in the post fight interview.
The fight between Peterson and Santana was competitive for three rounds which judging by the cheers of the pro-Santana crowd gave them hope that the New York bred Santana could pull off the upset. Fletcher managed to show a lot of heart to finish the round. Less action in round 2 but Jacobs continued to stalk his opponent. Fletcher continued to show signs of life and establishes a good jab to work his way back into the fight in round three. Perhaps realizing this, Jacobs step his game up and continued wearing Fletcher down. Jacobs sealed the deal by with a barrage of punches that cause the corner to concede the fight.
