Hard-swinging Super Flyweight Daryl Basadre of Gensan (R) tipped the scales at 114 lbs while opponent Cebu-based Julius Alcos scaled over-weight at 120 lbs during the weigh-in ceremony today (March 19) at Gaisano Mall of Gensan. The result forces the 10-round fight for the vacant WBF Super Flyweight (115 lbs) International belt to be in play for Basadre only.

"The Basadre vs Alcos fight is still a go tomorrow (March 20) at Laogao Gym here in General Santos City, Cotabato del Sur, but the over-weight Julius Alcos will have to wear 10 oz gloves and pay 10% of his purse to Daryl Basadre as compensation," said fight promoter Jim Claude Manangquil of JP Promotions (C)

If Basadre defeats the much shorter Alcos, then Daryl Basadre would earn the chance of fighting for the vacant WBF Super Flyweight World Title in Namibia on May 9.

Also, in a 10-rounder, Filipino Flyweight Champion (PBF) Jason Canoy (14-4-2, 12 KO's) of Cebu will clash with Ronerex Dalug (8-13-2, 2 KO's) of Gensan. The PBF 112 lbs Title of Canoy is not in play.

Also in the flyweight division, 22-year-old Raymond Tabugon (11-3-1, 4 KO's) of the City of Golden Friendship Cagayan de Oro will face late-sub 50-fight veteran Amero "Tantan" Ricablanca (7-41-2, 1 KO) of Surigao City.

Tabugon was supposed to fight veteran Michael Rodriguez, but Rodriguez pulled out so as fight the more dangerous Ben Mananguil (9-0-1, 2 KO's) this Saturday (March 22) at BSU Gym in La Trinidad, Benguet.

More professional and amateur fights are scheduled.

This FREE GENERAL ADMISSION card tomorrow (March 20) at Lagao Gym in Gensan is a production of Jim Claude Manangquil of JM Promotions in association with Dexter T. Tan of Sanman Promotions with appreciation to Lonsdale London and the valuable support of General Santos City Mayor Ronnel "Nel" Rivera.
