"Strawberry Punch Presents King of the Ring" boxing series, produced by promoter Brico Santig and Thai boxing veteran Naris Singwancha, continues to entertain fight fans, the new presentation this Saturday (March 22) at the gym of Benguet State University in Barangay Balili, La Trinidad, Benguet Province, Philippines. All fans in Benguet are invited.

"Strawberry Presents King of the Ring" will feature exciting female and male pro boxing fights, amateur matches PLUS the special performance of guest artist SexBomb Leah.

In the main event for the LUZPROBA Flyweight Title, promising Filipino action kid Ben Mananquil will battle proven Gensan veteran Michael Rodriguez.

The fight will mark Ben Mananquil's reappearance after his sensational round 2 technical draw against 32 year-old world-rated Kwanpichit OnesongchaiGym (25-0-2, 10 KO's) for the Oriental Flyweight Title last August in The Kingdom of Thailand.

In that title spectacular quick rumble in Thailand, a fast, powerful and well-timed Ben Mananquil attacked, rocked and knocked down Kwanpichit in the very first round, having the shocked Thai in a defensive mode receiving Pinoy leather.

The much shorter Mananquil (9-0-1, 2 KO's) was effectively destroying the Thai oriental titlist, a former muay thai warrior.

When Kwanpichit went down during the rough action of the first round, the Thai referee counted extremely slowly giving air to the shocked Kwanpichit.

But that doesn't deter Manaquil from pursuing his Thai prey relentlessly rocking him again and again. In some other ring the fight would have been stopped but not there.

The shaken Thai went down again from a long overhead thrown at him by Mananquil, but the third man ruled it a slip.

At the end of round one, the fight seemed to be owned by Mananquil who came out to round 2 dishing out more power, pressing forward to downing the Thai boxer one more time.

Near the end of round 2 the Thai began to bled, an opportunity used by the all-Thai panel of officials who appeared too willing to protect the local boxer, stopping the fight, granting their Thai compatriot a technical draw with the ten-year younger Filipino Manangquil. Manangquil with trainer Asenjo.

The official result was a draw, but for the young Manangquil it was a win as it proved that the fast Zamboangue?o southpaw has developed enough fighting skills to take on world-ranked boxers, and even dominate them.

Seven months from that hot thrilling afternoon in Thailand, Ben Mananquil will face Filipino compatriot Michael Rodriguez, a 52-fight veteran who has been in the square ring against some of the best warriors in the 108 and 112 pound divisions.

FILIPINO VS JAPANESE BATTLES.

In one of the Japan VS Philippines boxing matches, cute Japanese fight girl Oshiru Tamami will make her pro debut against Filipina tornado Carleans "Chay" Rivas. The entertaining Tamami VS Chay battle is in the 105 lbs division.

Moreover, Kaito Hattori born in the Land of the Rising Sun will exchange mean blows with Filipino Ronnie Rejino in a 4-rounder in the flyweight division.

In another Japanese VS Philippines match up, Nippon Riku Kanou (0-1, 0 KO's) will clash with Filipino Rogie Cantos. In his first pro fight, the Japanese Kanou was outpointed by pinoy Benjie Bartolome last December at Barangay Buayang Bato in Mandaluyong City. But the defeat did not discourage the Japanese. He wants to try again.

In another girls fight, 23-year-old Norj Guro (6-3-1, 4 KO's) of Iligan City, Lanao del Norte, will face pretty girl Rosemarie Cruz in her second pro fight.

In an all-Filipino slugfest, 28-year-old lightweight Amor Tino of Bokod, Benguet will exchange knuckles with tough Alejandro Anas, 27, of La Trinidad.
