Canadian hard-hitting rising-star Steve "The Dragon" Claggett (17-2-1, 12 KOs) of Calgary, Alberta, became the new Canadian Welterweight Champion by knocking out tough Francesco Cotroni of Mascouche, Quebec, last night (Sept 13) at Shaw Conference Centre in Edmonton, Alberta.

The finale of the exciting battle came during the action of round 6 when the relentless 24-year-old Claggett ravaged with power and precision the mid-section of Cotroni, prompting the Quebecian's corner to step-in to halt the severe punishment.

With the win, "The Dragon" Clagget is up to new challenges in the welterweight division. Congratulations Steve.

Steve Clagget is managed and trained by Eric de Guzman of Calgary's Teofista Boxing. The exciting card was a production of Melanie Lubovac of Edmonton's KO Boxing Promotions.
