Following the triumph of his friend and stablemate Rey Loreto yesterday in Thailand, WBC #12 Flyweight Rey Megri?o (C), of the Philippines scored a well-deserved hard-fought unanimous decision victory over world-rated Japanese WBC #15 Myung Ho Lee tonight (Aug 24) at in Osaka, Japan.

Displaying good moves and powerful hands, the 27 year-old Megri?o (20-20-3, 17 KOs) sent the undaunted Myung Ho Lee to the canvas three times during the action-packed clash, once during the rough first round and again two times in round two. But the courageous Japanese fought back fearlessly, finishing the rumble on his two feet.

At the end of the fight the two boxers hug and the official scorecards were read. The all-Japanese panel of judges scored 78-73, 77-73 and 76-74, all in favor for the Filipino Rey Megrino who undoubtedly improves his rating in the WBC flyweight (112 lbs) world rankings.

Rey Megri?o - who last year captured the WBC International Flyweight title by pummeling and knocking out Thailand's "WBC Fighter of the Decade" Ponsaklek Wongjongkam - is handled by Filipino Brico Santig, winner of last year's WBC Asian promoter of the year award.

The Filipino, born in Misamis Occidental, trains at the elevated Highland Boxing Stable Gym located in the spring City of La Trinidad City in Benguet, Philippines, and his dream is to challenge Japanese world champion Akira Yaegashi (18-3, 9 KOs) for the WBC Flyweight World title.
