In a close full-action clash, lanky Japanese speedster Koki Eto (14-2-1, 10 KO's) of Okinawa scored the greatest victory in this pro boxing career by flooring and outpointing Thailand's Kompayak Porpramook to capture the WBA Interim Flyweight Title August 1 in Bangkok, Thailand.
Entering the last round, the Thai champ was ahead by one point in the score cards of two of judges. The Thai champ just needed to finish the fight to draw and retain his title.
But the 25 year-old Japanese Koki Eto landed punch after punch on Kompayak, flooring him shortly before the last bell, scoring a 10-8 to shift the balance in his favor, grabbing the close victory by unanimous decision to become the new WBA interim flyweight champion.
Final scores were 114-113 (twice) and 116-111 all in favor of the 25 year-old new interim champion, a veredict submitted by judges Byung-Moo Kim of Korea and Pierluigi Poppi of Italy and Silvestre "Robocop" Abainza of the Philippines.
