Mark ?Gwapo? Pagcaliwangan Wins Pro Debut by 3rd Round TKO Over Gerald Audate

Montreal, Canada - What can be said about Marc ?Gwapo? Pagcaliwangan?s professional debut is that his hunger and explosiveness was an exercise of intense pressure fighting fueled by his emotion and hunger to earn his first win. Right from the get go, Marc Pagcaliwangan kept coming forward on Gerald Audate and never looked nor stepped back. This was the type of fight crowds get up on their feet and cheer for; when boxers go toe to toe and engage in a intense exchange of power punches.
In round one, Marc Pagcaliwangan came out of his corner like a charging bull eager to exchange and brawl with Gerald Audate. Pagcaliwangan executed wide punches and got on the inside of Audate, he imposed his will as quick as he could and opened up this fight with big bombs aimed for Audate?s head.
Pagcaliwangan's blazing hand speed and heavy hands overwhelmed his opponent ability to fire back effectively. Gerald Audate answered back and connected with a few jabs and punches during the opening round, but he was no where close to Pagcaliwangan?s punch rate.
In the second round Gerald Audate started strong and set up his jab that landed on Pagcaliwangan. Audate landed power punches on Pagcaliwangan?s head that caused a knick above his left eye. Pagcaliwangan took all of Audate?s punches and slowed down in the opening minute of the second round. Audate?s fists came to life as he assembled his combinations that landed square and clean that exposed some vulnerability on Pacaliwangan?s defence.
Marc Pagcaliwangan kept in close to keep the pressure on Audate. Just when you thought Audate would pull away with in the second round, Pagcaliwangan counter punched his way and turned the tide by getting busy with his fists again. For every punch that Audate threw, Pagcaliwangan threw three more to answer back that punished Audate?s thin frame. Pagcaliwangan capitalized on the moment when Audate slowed signs of wear and tear from the big bombs that landed on Audate?s head and body into the second minute of the fight. Audate got rocked several times late in the rounds with more punishing body and head punches. They fought in a smaller ring, there was nowhere to go for Audate, all he could do was clinch and hold on while Pagcaliwangan finished the round strong with authority.
In the third round, Marc Pagcaliwangan came out charging again, he had not realized Gerald Audate had very little left in the tank. Pagcaliwangan got on the inside of Audate whose only defense was clinching and trying to turn his opponent. Pagcaliwangan continued to punish Audate with body shots and upper cuts until he was against the ropes struggling to stay up on his feet around the small ring. The referee stopped the fight as Audate could not answer back anymore at 1:30 of the third round. Marc Pagcaliwangan wins by TKO.
When the bell rang to stop the fight Marc Pagcaliwangan jumped for joy around the ring, he had many friends and family with many visible Filipinos in the crowd that celebrated his first victory. Some of his dedicated fans drove over 7 hours to watch his first fight. The fans that made the long trip to Montreal were happy with the crowd pleasing performance Marc Pagcaliwangan delivered with his raw power along with the big heart he demonstrated in his first win. Pagcaliwangan came out right after the fight to be with everyone that supported him, he insured everyone was greeted had had their photo opportunity with him.
Marc "Gwapo" Pagcaliwangan is scheduled to fight again on Oct. 27 in Brooklyn, New York.
