Junmar Emon Wins A Bloody Tough Battle at Full Throttle

Mississauga, ON. United Promotions showcased the first Filipino Canadian professional boxer that fought in Canada in several decades. The Full Throttle fight card was explosive and very well attended at Mississauga?s Hershey Center last night. Filipino Canadian pressure fighter Junmar Emon, in his second fight of his pro career came out of his corner from the start of the fight charging like a bull. The courageous Canadian East Coaster Ryan McGrady fought like a matador trying to avoid a collision against the charging Filipino throughout the fight.
Early in the first round, Emon connected with a hook to the left eye of McGrady that split open, blood dripped from his face but did not bother McGrady. Emon lunged in with confidently with urgency while McGrady had no choice but time and counter the charging Filipino. Tough as nails McGrady was able to slip way and dodge a few bombs from Emon who came from every angle and different directions. Emon saw McGrady?s blood early in the battle and urgently threw volume punches and capitalized on the moment. McGrady got several clean shots in but not enough to stop the momentum and pressure of Junmar Emon. The fans were delighted with the outcome of the first round.
In the second round Ryan McGrady was able to find his range and timing better, he was able to neutralize many attacks from Emon and defended himself better, the blood from the cut above his left eye stopped for a bit but it started to trickle down his face after the first minute. McGrady was able to see and defend what was coming at him and kept Emon at bay. This mighty McGrady best round as he was able to counter punch and land some hard ones punches on Emon?s head and body.
Junmar Emon intensified his offense right from the get go in the next round. He was swinging wide hunting for McGrady?s head looking to hurt the very durable East Coaster. Emon?s corner had to tell him to slow down and box instead of swinging wild and missing many punches that was thrown very hard. Emon connected with some huge bombs on McGrady?s head and body who took all the punishment Emon could administer. Both fighters have been attacking head forward, it was only a matter of time until an accidental head butt occurred. McGrady?s head smashed square into Emon?s head opening up a wound deep enough that bleed profusely, Emon screamed out when it happened as the blood got into his eyes. The referee did not call the two head butts that Emon had received. Emon commented that the referee was very tall and could not see the heads colliding down low. The Filipino really felt the head butt, it made him angry and fight harder than ever , he continued to punish McGrady with power punches.
Now we have a real intense battle ready to climax at Full Throttle and the fans cheered on throughout the auditorium. Both boxers were bloodied all over the face and dripped down all over their body. This fight could very well be the most bloodiest fight we have seen at the Hershey Center thus far. There was no rule breaking between Emon and McGrady, they continued to fight clean and harder than ever, Emon was hustling the rest of this fight wanting to close out. Nova Scotia fighters don?t fold that easy demonstrated by Ryan McGrady who was game and did not back down one bit. The ringside doctor inspected both bloodied boxers, the fight goes on!
In the last round Junmar Emon returned to hunting for Ryan McGrady?s body and especially his head. There was no stopping Emon now as he wanted closure, he lunged in like a mad bull ready to put the hurt against the matador and take him down for the kill. Emon landed power punches square on McGrady?s head and body. McGrady answered with his own arsenal which did not slow down the Filipino. However, McGrady stood up to Emon and took everything he could dish out. By this time, Emon has accumulated more points in the scorecard by the end of the fight.
Junmar Emon dominated and won by unanimous decision through speed, footwork and number of power punches landed on the tough and durable Ryan McGrady. Both fighters finished the fight on their feet and were proud of what they have accomplished, they could probably go several rounds more. The judges scored the fight 40-36, 40-36 and 39-37 by way of unanimous decision for Junmar Emon.
Both Emon and McGrady put on a crowd pleasing performance at United Promotion?s Full Throttle. For Ryan McGrady, there is no shame with losing this one, he can go back to Truro with his head and hands held up high with the durability and heart he has demonstrated.
