PHILIPPINE MEMORY ATHLETE TO BE FETED IN CONGRESS ON TUESDAY

Manila, Philippines -- MEMBER of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office-Mandaluyong-Bagong Henerasyon (BH) Philippine Memory Team will be honored on Tuesday,(July 31, 2012) 4pm at the House of Representatives in Quezon City.

The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office-Mandaluyong-Bagong Henerasyon (BH) Philippine Memory Team was composed of First Filipino Grandmaster (GM) of Memory Mark Anthony Castaneda, veteran campaigner Roberto Racasa, Ian Roi Spencer Betiong, Cristine "Eon" Barao, Anne Bernadette Bonita, Mary Sharmaine Deldio-Dianquinay, Ydda Graceille Mae Habab, Blessie Mae Ayalde, Princess Grace Mendoza, 10-year-old whiz kid Jamyla Lambunao, team manager and delegation head Aurelio "Reli" de Leon, team captain/media head and International arbiter Almario Marlon Bernardino Jr. and Edwin Llamo who swept all 10 gold medal in 10 events in the Mind Festival and 5th Thailand International Open Memory Championships at the Kasetsart University in Bangkok, Thailand last July 7.

"We are honored to present the member of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office-Mandaluyong-Bagong Henerasyon (BH) Philippine Memory Team who won the 10 (ten) gold medal in the Mind Festival and 5th Thailand International Open Memory Championships at the Kasetsart University in Bangkok, Thailand last July 7 at the Kasetsart University in Bangkok, Thailand last July 7," said Bagong Henerasyon (BH) Party-List Rep. Bernadette Herrera-Dy, one of the benefactor of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office-Mandaluyong-Bagong Henerasyon (BH) Philippine Memory Team which also backed up by Mandaluyong City mayor Benhur Abalos Jr., Mandaluyong City representative and majority floor leader Neptali "Boyet" Gonzales II, Speaker of the House Feliciano "Sonny" Belmonte Jr., Bayan Muna Party-List Rep. Neri Javier Colmenares, PCSO general manager Atty. Joy Rojas II and chairman Margie Juico, St. Francis Square?s Luke Rojas, Bicycle rider playing cards, ACCEL's Willy Ortiz, Dra. Regina Canlas of Makati Medical Center, PBA legend and former senator Robert "Sonny" Jaworski, Philippine Sports Commission headed by it's chairman Ricardo Garcia, Philippine Olympic Committe president Jose Cojuangco and secretary-general Steve Hontiveros.

The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office-Mandaluyong-Bagong Henerasyon Philippine Memory Team also schedule to pay a courtesy call to House Speaker Feliciano "Sonny" Belmonte Jr.

?This proves once again that the Filipino can be at par with the world?s best memory athletes. And with ample training and preparation, we can even become world champion,? added UTAK Learning System Founder Roberto Racasa, a former PUP top chess player.

Dubbed as the Philippine Charity Sweepstake Office (PCSO)-Mandaluyong-Bagong Henerasyon (BH) Philippine Memory Team will get to test their mettle when they compete against the best in the world in the 21st World Memory Championships which kicks off December 14, 15 and 16 at the Lilian Baylis Technology School, 323 Kennington Lane in London, United Kingdom.

It shall be recalled that the Philippine Charity Sweepstake Office (PCSO)-Mandaluyong-Bagong Henerasyon (BH) Philippine Memory Team finished second overall in the team competition during the 20th World ?Olympic? Memory Championship held last December in Guangzhou, China.

Powerhouse China took the gold medal, while Mongolia captured the bronze.

Other countries which took part in the last year's WMC 'Olympic' event were the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, Poland, Japan, Uzbekistan, South Africa, India, Hongkong, Singapore, Malaysia, Maldives and Indonesia.
