NATIONAL OPEN CHESS CHAMPIOMSHIPS SEMI FINALS (OLYMPIAD SELECTION) GETS UNDERWAY

THE search for the members of the Philippine Chess Team (men & women) for the 41st Chess Olympiad continues with the staging of the Semi Final round of the 2012 NATIONAL OPEN CHESS CHAMPIONSHIPS (Men & Women) at the PSC Canteen, Rizal Memorial Sports Complex, P. Ocampo St., Manila from June 4 ? 9.

The Semi Finals, organized by the National Chess Federation of the Philippines (NCFP) in coordination with the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) and sponsored by the City of Tagaytay, headed by Mayor Abraham ?Bambol? Tolentino, will determine the top six (6) placers in the men?s division will join twelve (12) Grandmasters and the top eight (8) placers in the women?s category will join the seeded six (6) players from the 2011 Battle of Grandmasters, in the finals (subject to change in case of withdrawal or inability to play of any of the seeded players).

Registration is three hundred pesos (P300.00). Non-NCFP members must apply for membership before joining the tournament by paying the necessary annual dues.
