The Games and Amusements Board under the abled leadership of Chairman Eric R. Buhain and the active members of the Board, in complete feeling of triumph and jubilation joins the whole nation in the great moment of victory brought to us by the convincing win of Manny "PACMAN" Paquiao against the "EL CHOLOLO" Oscar Larios of Mexico in a fight dubbed worldwide as the "Mano a Mano" before the thousand of Filipno dominated crowd at the Araneta Coliseum, July 2, 2006, Sunday here in the Philppines.
"So far this the Golden Moment in the Philippine Boxing," Buhain stated this with pride being the BIG BOSS of the country's agency that supervises and directly regulates the conduct of professional boxing in the country and as expected, we will be issuing unanimous resolution commending all our champion pro boxers for such a historic milestone in the annals of our boxing scene.
The Multi-Million promotions jointly handled by the MP Promotions owned by our Mexican Butcher Manny Paquiao himself and the giant TV Network ABS-CBN, and in part having tied-up abroad via the "GOLDEN BOY PROMOTIONS" of another boxing great Oscar De La Hoya was a tremendous success needless to mention the value of advertisements, "PAY PER VIEW" and the rest, but the real essence of the All-Filipino All-Mexican fights cards are both glory and honor to this nation and at the same level business.
The great Philippine Pugilist having displayed his might before the very eyes of the common Filipinos one good thing is that everytime Manny Paquiao enter the ring for a fight, the whole country has been always put in a complete stop. A big factor in uniting the politically divided nation, Manny has been playing we have been witnesses to the rubbing of elbows between the top politicians belonging to the both opposition and the administration turf headed by Vice-President Noli De Castro, Executive Secretary Eduardo Ermita in one single venue in the Big Dome, top honchos of the ABS-CBN, Multi-Awarded actors of the country, calibered artist and young performers were there and the big names in the boxing foreign and local scenes don't afford any chances to miss the celebrated fight what happend was in effect. A clear display of united Filipinos from all walks of life, solid and magnetic in chanting and sharing every wave of punches thrown by our great fighters of the ring at their foreign foes. Meaning, if we are united even in a glance, we are perfectly strong and we can send the signal to the global community of sports competitions, that we Filipinos are a force to reckon with.
Of course, we cant just simply omit in history others in the underscards slated Filipino boxers who have won remarkably they have had added the colors to this golden history we have just grabbed from the hands of Mexico. We knew it that what was at stake last sunday 'MANO A MANO" encounters is the name of each and every country involved, in which case the Philippines against Mexico. In fact, many observers from among the boxing afficionados had it that once and for all we have settled the issue as to who are the best fighters in the world in the parlans of professional boxing I personally observed the whispering of Mauro Betti, an Italian based WBC assigned fight supervisor of Don Jose Sulaiman Chagnon who is the President of this boxing sanctioning body, to another foreign boxing official in salutation to our Filipino boxers of their being world class in quality. Former World champion Gerry Pe?alosa, Czar Amonsot, Jimrex Jaca and others in the fight cards.
In conclusion, what Manny Paquiao did and has given us out of that victory over Larios which for me is a "shock and awe" bombardment of punches is already a history in the Philippines. We do not want to preempt his future fights although it's a done deal between him and Morales again for the third time in Las Vegas this 17th of November, we will leave it to Manny Pacquiao and his managers. Words are no longer enough to discribe on how this agency and the millions of Filipinos have been benefited directly or indirectly out of Manny's contribution in our nation's greatness before the international community now. One thing of, is that this Golden boy from General Santos City will continue to stay in the hearts and minds of loving Filipinos and will remember him until the next generations for as long as boxing lives in our midst. Like Former world champions Pancho Villa, the great Flash Elorde and many others in the line rest assured of the professional boxing aimed at producing more and more global champions.
Manny Pacquiao from the bottom of our hearts we salute you man!
