GAB TO CREATE ILOILO OFFICE; COMMENDS GOV. TUPAS AND OTHERS

The Games and Amusements Board headed by its ever dynamic and decisive sportsman Chairman Eric R.Buhain is set to establish an extension office here in Iloilo City to cater to the needs and the demands of the growing professional sports enthusiasm of the upcoming generations.The move in itself was an offshoot of the recent sports forum conducted by Commissioner Alex A.Paglumotan per directive by the good Chairman and with the support having been committed by Governor Neil Tupas and Board Mamber Angel Briones who is at the same time Liga ng mga Barangay President of the province.This is a joint program of the GAB and the top executives of the provincial government which further aims at promoting better pro sports particularly boxing in this known " Queen City of the South".
In today's Board meeting at Makati City , the incumbency of Chairman Buhain and this Board will approve the creation of its extension office in Iloilo City where the ground floor of the Liga ng mga Barangay of the province will be utilized for its operations and the technical and personnel support to be provided by the GAB.Once operational so soon, this is signal a greater impact towards the development in matters athletes pooling to become world class in the near future.We do also believe that the good Congressman Raul Gonzales Jr. and City Mayor Jerry Trenas will extend support for the success of the joint project."This is the beauty of bringing the government closer to our people and not by waiting our people to come to their government" Buhain relating to the intitial success of Paglumotan's trip to Iloilo City to convince the different sports executives to reorganize and do something for their people in sports.
The Board is also set to commend through approving resolutions in effect to appreciate the following people who are responsible for reviving the high spirit of promoting pro sporting activities in Iloilo City.The likes of Alex P.Vidal of the Iloilo's Sunstar and Daily Informer, Jonavin"JR"Villalva of DYRI ,Board Member Angel Briones,Governor Neil Tupas ,the Tinagan Mixed-martial Arts Club , Rudy Magahin and to those whose enthusisms are still intact for the continued evolution of pro sports in Iloilo City and the entire province and maybe the whole of Panay area, We salute you guys for your untiring efforts.This is not for our own legacy but for the glory and greatness of our nation and for the future of the young generations.
Meanwhile,this representation is officially travelling to Chicago,IL,USA effective today to attend the Commissioner meeting of the Women International Boxing Association in America.As we all know, fenale fighting promotions in the country is already legal.After this conference,this writer will initiate the conduct of all women fight cards in the Philippines to be supported all out by the GAB Chairman.Mabuhay tayong mga Ilonggo at mga Filipino!
