This column is dedicated to the Philippines' icon in the world of swimming, gold medalist and former Olympian and now Games and Amusements Board Chairman Eric R. Buhain.

Today, the 12th of April 2006 is his natal day celebration.Though I am not certain as to his exact age but the "big boss" of the country's professional sports agency is in his middle thirties (30's).

Young, intellegent and energetic and steadfast as a leader, Chairman Buhain is fortunate enough to have received the many blessings and talent the Lord has given him all these years. What is unique in him is that, considering his youth, there are only very few who have achieved such fame, glory and acclain in life. He is practically made and complete both finacially and in status in our society. He is blessed by more than a "lady luck" by having his loving and ever supportive wife, the Honorable Eileen Ermita-Buhain, Congresswoman of the 1st district of Batangas and most of all by his father-in-law, Executive Secretary Eduardo R. Ermita.Their two lovely and wonderful daughters Eira Nicole and Eliana Patricia are the ones serving as their inspiration and guiding angels for their being public servants to our people.

Chairman Eric R.Buhain is no ordinary man. He has an independent mind, big heart for his peers, empathetic to others and most of all a no-nonsense leader in his own turf. He is loved and adored by his people and subordinates in various fields. He is a man of unquestionable integrity and his passion for life is to help others grow and achieve their own way of progress. Many people can attest to this. And one of them is yours truly.

This column would not be enough to fill you up with the good deeds this "golden man" from Cavite has extended to me and to my family. From the bottom of my heart, I appreciate and thank him for the concern and support he has sincerely given.

What more could he ask for as an individual? He's got what others don't have in his youth. So today in his celebration of a fruitful life Chairman Buhain must be proud of himself not only as an achiever in so many fields, but as a young dynamic leader full of high spirit and enthusiam, and who is endowed with natural charm and charisma.

The entire professional sporting community in the Philippines is now one and solidly behind his strength and the will power to enhance and unify the pro sporting conduct in the country. The directional change in the sporting landscape now is evident by the fact that Chairman Buhain's mastery in sports is beyond question. And it is of no argument that this man will have a place in the national governance in the future. We wish him consistent, good and longer meaningful life and "more blessings to be a blessing to others".

This is our prayers and sincerest appreciation to Chairman Eric R.Buhain. Once again , Happy happy Birthday Boss !!!

Chairman Eric R.Buhain, Mabuhay po kayo !!!
