MANDAUE CITY, Cebu -- Promoter and former world champion Gerry Pe?alosa of GerryPenns Promotions paid a very friendly courtesy call to Vice-Mayor of Mandaue City Honorable Glenn O. Bercede. The visit highlights Pe?alosa's exciting boxing card that will take place at Mandaue City Sports Complex this Saturday (August 6) starting at 7pm.

"We are delighted to have you in Mandaue, dear Gerry Pe?alosa, this is your home too and we appreciate your promotion of boxing events here in Mandaue. You can count our support and enthusiasm," commented the Vice-Mayor yesterday afternoon at his office at Mandaue City Hall.

Two-division world champion Gerry Penalosa, who will celebrate his birthday this coming Sunday, was accompanied by wife Goody, brother former champion Dodie Boy Penalosa Sr., former WBC light flyweight champion Rodel Mayol, nephew undefeated Cebuano super bantamweight "Dugong Kampeon" Doddie Boy Pe?alosa Jr. (5-0, 5KO's), trainer Juanito Ablaca and Sun Star reporter Jun "Junmigs" Migallen.

For Rodel Mayol and Dodie Boy Penalosa Jr., their respective fights this Saturday are especially important as a top performance will reward them with a coveted place in the preliminaries of the mega blockbuster Pacquiao-Marquez III card on November 12 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

In the main event Dodie Boy Jr. will battle dangerous Thailander Kong Kiatprachagym while local Mandaue kid Rodel Mayol will face Jayson Rotoni.
