WCP Superbrawl Report - Women?s Title Fight is Fight of the Night

The ?Lethal? Lindsay Garbatt vs. Jelena Mrdjenovich rematch convincingly took the fight of the night at the WCP Superbrawl held in Barrie, ON, Canada. When the bell rang, both Garbatt and Mrdjenovic were fast, fierce and furious with their offense from the start to the finish. The fans were ecstatic and cheered on both fighters in appreciation for their efforts, but they favored Garbatt who was fighting in her home Province.
If there was ever a female version of the Israel Vazquez vs. Rafael Marquez war in the ring, this rematch between Garbatt vs. Jelena would be the closest thing to it. Even a third encounter would be a crowd pleaser no matter what the outcome maybe and is well suited for a pay per view under card. Both female boxers demonstrated that they were in tremendous world class shape and endured 10 rounds of punishment going back and forth in this high adrenalin rematch. Many punches were exchanged, the WIBA Super featherweight Champion Garbatt?s style of offence was fearless as she relentlessly lunged straight and in angles going after Mrdjenovich like tomorrow may never come.
Jelena Mrdjenovich exercised patience with pulling the trigger, she counter punched and connected frequently which tested Garbatt?s chin but that wasn?t enough against the surging Garbatt and her sense or urgency with throwing punches from every direction.
There was no knockdowns in this fight but the bruised and cut inflicted on Mrdjenovich?s face justified that Garbatt did most of the damage which earned her the unanimous decision. During the one on one interview with Coach Socrates Celestial of Philboxing.com, Garbatt stated that her favorite boxer was Pacquiao, Garbatt?s performance tonight showed many Pacquiao like qualities. At the end of the fight Garbatt called out Pacquiao's name while she was still in the ring, she wished that he could see this fight and her performance tonight.
Jelena Mrdjenovich who is now 26W6L-1D is still a big threat and a worthy opponent for a title fight or rematch against Garbatt who is now 6W-3L-1D. Boxing fans especially those who follow women?s boxing, a copy of this fight is worth the acquisition. The judges score card was 95-95, 96-95 and 96-94 for Garbatt.

Canadian Heavyweight Champion Neven Pajkic lands a short left hook on Johnnie White's face.
Tyler "Big Sky" Fields rocks Raymond Olubowale in the third round.
In the main event, the undefeated Canadian Heavyweight Champion Neven ?No Surrender" Pajkic earned a unanimous decision and retains his title over Louisiana State Champion ?Lethal? Johnnie White. This fight was so close that the decision could have gone either way. During the 9th round, White was able to land some big bombs that surprised and stunned Pakjic which backed him off. White pressed him even more which caused Pajkic to fade for the remainder of the fight.
Some fans were uncomfortable the decision of the fight going Pajkic who remains undefeated at 15-0. Pajkic was able to squeeze out a win from the judges since he connected with key punches and power punches early in the fight, the judges score card was 96-94, 97-93, 96-94 The likeable and mild mannered Canadian Heavyweight Champion has been vocal about fighting Tyson Fury who is first in his wish list of opponents.
In the Canadian Heavyweight eliminator match up Tyler ?Big Sky? Fields took care of Raymond Olubowale in 3 rounds with a technical knock out. In his next fight, Fields will be Vegas bound.
Overall the WCP Superbrawl delivered solid and entertaining match ups in the nearly sold out Molson Center that was geared up for boxing instead of it?s usual hockey arena format. The VIP tickets that included dinner had a nice touch and came in time for those who travelled north of Toronto during the rush hour traffic. Legendary Canadian Boxer George Chuvalo and several UFC Fighter where in attendance along with several more local Canadian Celebrities.
WCP Promoter and Wild Wing restaurant founder Rick Smiciklas and his event staff went the extra mile and insured that Superbrawl was a crowd pleaser in addition to his continued support for the sport of Boxing in Ontario.
