Philippine Boxing Federation (PBF) superbantamweight titlist Jason Egera will replace Larry ?Bon Jovi? Canillas as the opponent of Rolando Magbanua in the ten round main event of the January 15 fight card to be held at the I.T. Park in Lahug, Cebu City. Canillas suffered a training injury last month but the Egera vs. Magbanua match-up is just as exciting.

Magbanua (19W-1L, 14 KO's), who bears the ring moniker ?Smooth Operator?, is from the Braveheart Boxing Club of North Cotabato. He gave Cebu fans a very good impression in 2009 when he stopped Mexico's Jose Angel Cota in six rounds and Thailand's Wanpadejseuk Sithsaithong in three rounds, both at the Cebu Coliseum. Three fights later, he would lose to journeyman Eric Barcelona but he won his last two fights by knockout against Nikong Calamba and Rolando Omela.

Egera (13W-5L, 6 KO's) is from the Futalan Stable of Siaton, Negros Oriental. He is a former WBO Asia-Pacific bantamweight titlist who lost his title to another Braveheart boxer, Jundy Maraon, by third round knockout last February 2009 at the Cebu Coliseum. Egera won the PBF title with a unanimous decision win over Gedeon Amba in Bayawan City last March 2010. He lost to Roli Gasca by unanimous decision in a non-title fight four months later but bounced back with with a fourth round technical knockout win over Jestoni Pepito in front of his hometown fans in Siaton last November.

There will be six undercard bouts: James Bacon of the ALA Gym vs Jake Verano of Cagayan de Oro (10 rounds), Superflyweight Albert Pagara will make his four round pro debut against Sandy Cajil of the Futalan Stable, Basilio Sultan of the ALA Gym vs Justin Gacos of the DDP Stable of Butuan City (4 rounds bantamweights), Jomar Cordinillo of Tagbilaran City vs Marlon Talili of Jagna, Bohol (6 rounds mini-flyweights), Michael Romarate of the ALA Gym vs Rardo Espeleta of Butuan City (4 rounds flyweights), Richard Barrios of Cebu City vs Crispin Salvador of the Futalan Stable (4 rounds mini-flyweights).
