
Catubay loses by split decision in Japan

Federico 'Magnifico' Catubay failed in his bid to wrest the vacant OPBF flyweight title when he lost by split decision against Japanase Noriyuki Komatsu at the Prefectural Gym in Osaka, Japan tonight.
According to fight results posted at BoxRec.com, scoring referee Jae Tae Kim had it 115-112 and Judge Ichiro Uenaka had it 115-111, all for Komatsu, while Judge Jonathan Davis had it 114-112 for Catubay.
No other details are available at this time.
The Cebu-based, Zamboanga-native Catubay thus registered his 11th loss in 29 outings. He has 15 wins, 3 draws with 10 KOs.
