GAB ACCREDITS NEW BOXING BODY

The three-member board of the Games and Amusement Board (GAB) had issued a unanimous resolution during the 3rd week of August 2005 approving the application of the WORLD BOXING EMPIRE (WBE), represented by Mr. Dante Almario as commissioner of the said boxing organization in the region of Asia.
Chariman Eric R. Buhain, Commissioner Alex A. Paglumotan and Angel P. Bautista had penned its decisive nod after almost three calendar board meetings and all necessary requirements have been met by the WBE representatives in the Philippines.
WBE was founded and established last year by a group led by Mr. Mark Chang who is now based in state of Virginia, USA.
What is the impact of this newly accredited WBE as a boxing empire per se?
Almario, who owns a boxing stable in Muntinlupa City emphasized, “We want to serve as another venue of boxing opportunity to all Filipino boxers and the world”..
The GAB officials, meanwhile, had requested Almario to divest of his interest as manager in his own stable in order to promote harmony and competent boxing promotions in the future which he immediately accepted. The GAB as an agency had appreciated the desire of the WBE in their common objective to be in the arena of World Boxing competitions. They will now be included in the agencies rate cards and annual calendar. Good luck to the WBE in there quest to succeed and as the saying goes, "The more the better for our Filipino Boxers,"
