CK Ingles to Host Open 2x2 Team and Open Individual Rapid Chess Tournaments with ₱100,000 Prize Pool

Manila – Chess enthusiasts from across the country are invited to compete in the 1st CK Ingles "Chess Kings" Open 2x2 Rapid Chess Team Tournament and the 1st CK Ingles Open Individual (Non-Master) Rapid Chess Tournament, both scheduled on Sunday, August 2, 2026, 10AM - 7PM at the Lower Ground Floor of Farmers Plaza, Cubao, Quezon City, beside the MRT Cubao Station.
Organized by CK Ingles (founder of Chess Kings), the twin tournament aims to provide an exciting and competitive chess experience for players of all ages and skill levels while promoting sportsmanship and the growth of Philippine chess.
The highlight of the event is the Open 2x2 Rapid Chess Team Tournament, featuring a ₱100,000 Total Prize Pool covering both the Main Event and Side Event.
2x2 Team Players must have a 1975 Average FIDE Rating, July 2026 FIDE Rating serving as the official pairing reference. The tournament welcomes Male / Female players, Kids and Adults, Rated/Unrated competitors, and even non-NCFP members. Games will follow a 15-minute plus 3-second increment time control over seven rounds using the Swiss System, from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
The Main Event Champion will receive ₱15,000 CASH, a trophy, two medals, and an Exclusive Overnight Resort Accommodation for four persons with free breakfast, bringing the total prize value to more than ₱21,000.
Cash prizes will also be awarded up to 8th Place, while 10 Special Category Champions and Top Board performers will receive additional cash incentive of P3,000 each.
Running simultaneously is the 1st CK Ingles Open Individual (Non-Master) Rapid Chess Tournament, intended for players with a maximum 1800 FIDE July Rating. This side event is also open to players of all ages, rated and unrated, and non-NCFP members. The Individual Champion will take home ₱6,000, along with a trophy and medal, while prizes will be awarded through 10th Place, plus 12 Special Category Champions will win P1,000 each.
Participants in both tournaments can also enjoy several promotional offers. The first 50 registered players will receive a FREE Chess Kings shirt, while the first 100 registrants will receive a FREE CK ExcellScents perfume sample. Every participant will also receive one FREE raffle coupon, giving them a chance to win exciting prizes such as chess sets, foldable chess boards, chess bags, health and beauty products, and other giveaways. Early Bird registration rates are available until July 26, 2026, with additional discounts offered to teams registering multiple entries.
