Mexican legend Jackie Nava inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame

Mexican boxing star Jackie Nava, "The Aztec Princess," was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame, officially becoming one of the immortal figures of the sport. She is the fourth Mexican female boxer and the twentieth person born in Mexico to be enshrined in the boxing hall of fame.

The International Boxing Hall of Fame Class of 2026 in Canastota also includes Naoko Fujioka, Nigel Benn, Gennady Golovkin, and Antonio Tarver, among others.

Nava debuted in 2001 and had a professional record of 40 wins, 4 losses, and 4 draws until her retirement in 2022. During her career, she faced Yazmin Rivas, Kelsey Jeffries, Alejandra Oliveras, Marcela Acuña, Chantall Martinez, Jennifer Salinas, Ana Maria Torres, Soledad Matthysse, Lisa Brown, Alys Sanchez, Alicia Ashley, and Mariana Juarez, among others.

Jacqueline Nava Mouett (April 11, 1980) was the WBA Women's Bantamweight World Champion in 2005 and the WBC Women's Super Bantamweight World Champion in 2005 and 2015. In addition to being the WBA super bantamweight champion between 2012 and 2015.

Nava was one of the leading figures in the development of women's boxing in Mexico and Latin America at a time when opportunities for women were limited, but with her dedication and performances in the ring, she achieved historic moments in world boxing.

Nava was a fundamental part of contributing to the appearance of women on television and at major events in world boxing.
