Panamanian superstar Nataly Delgado wins 115lb female WBA world championship in Orlando, Florida

Panamanian superstar and WBA interim super flyweight world champion Nataly Delgado (21-7-2, 5 KOs) lived up to her status as the favorite and years of dedication to claim the regular world title after defeating regular world champion Jasmine Artiga (15-1-1, 7 KOs) by unanimous decision (97-93, 97-93, 97-93) at the Caribe Royale Hotel in Orlando, Florida.
Delgado, who has received admirable support from the Panamanian government and the United States Embassy in Panama, represented by Ambassador Kevin Cabrera, reaffirmed her status as a national heroine with an admirable display of dedication and commitment to boxing. Years ago, when she was close to retiring, she persevered and went on to become a regular world champion.
Nataly's husband and the country's top trainer, Julio Archibold, was unable to be in his wife's corner but entrusted Delgado's work and future to former world champions Ricardo Cordoba (Panama) and Nicholas Walters (Jamaica), and his business partner, Raul Cortizo.
Delgado was a slight favorite to achieve her ultimate consecration in world boxing.
