A major shift in the Lightweight landscape is set for this Friday, April 24, as undefeated Russian standout Artur Subkhankulov faces two-time Olympian Bakhodur Usmonov. The bout, promoted by Peter Maniatis in association with the IBA, has been officially sanctioned as an IBF #2 Lightweight Elimination match.

With the IBF’s top two positions currently vacant, the winner of this clash will skyrocket toward the top of the division, positioning themselves for a mandatory path toward the world title.

Both fighters bring formidable credentials to the ring, representing the elite tier of the 135-pound division:

Bakhodur Usmonov (Tajikistan): A highly decorated two-time Olympian who is currently ranked in the Top 10 by the WBC, WBA, and IBF (#10).

Artur Subkhankulov (Russia): The IBF #8 ranked contender remains undefeated. He recently solidified his standing with a dominant 10-round victory over tough Filipino contender Virgel Vitor.

"Artur Subkhankulov is an exceptional talent," said Promoter Peter Maniatis. "His amateur background includes a legendary battle with Keyshawn Davis in 2018, and as a professional, he has proven he is ready for the world stage. However, Usmonov is world-rated across three major organizations and brings Olympic-level experience. This is a true high-stakes fight."

The winner of this Friday's bout will find themselves in the conversation with the division's biggest names.

"The victor of this elimination will be in line for massive opportunities," Maniatis added. "Whether it is a shot at IBF World Champion Raymond Muratalla or major clashes against top-rated contenders like Andy Cruz and Albert Bell, the winner here becomes a major player in the global Lightweight picture."
