Mexican superstar and former undisputed super middleweight champion Canelo Alvarez, 35, is expected to return to the ring on September 15 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in an event promoted by Turki Alalshikh and Riyadh Season.

Alvarez still has a multi-fight contract with Riyadh Season that runs through 2025 and is expected to conclude in 2027.

Strong rumors this weekend indicate that his next opponent could be WBC world champion Christian Mbilli, although there has also been talk of the newly crowned WBC interim middleweight champion, Guatemalan Lester Martinez, while other names like El Toro Resendiz and Jaime Munguia are being mentioned less frequently.

Canelo sees this fight as the first step in reclaiming his place among boxing's elite and once again aspiring to unify the division.

Alvarez's return is generating immense global excitement among millions of fans, and it is expected to be a great night of boxing.
