MIAMI, FL — On Saturday, May 2, 2026, boxing returns to Miami with purpose as Yuriorkis Gamboa and Guillermo Rigondeaux headline “Havana Heat” at the James L. Knight Center.

Presented by Ron Johnson’s American Dream Presents and Nothing But Sportz, the event features a 13-bout professional card built around fighters who have proven themselves and others looking to take that next step.

“Gamboa and Rigondeaux aren’t just accomplished fighters — they represent a boxing tradition that has produced some of the toughest, smartest, and most respected champions in the sport,” said Ron Johnson. “Cuban boxing carries real history, discipline, and pride. To present both of these men on the same night, in a city like Miami that understands that culture, is something I take seriously. It’s an honor to bring two legends to this stage.”

The official kickoff press conference will take place Thursday, April 2, 2026 at 2:00 PM at BoxR Gym, 1310 NE 1st Ave, Miami, FL.

This is not a one-fight show. From the opening bell through the main event, “Havana Heat” is built as a complete night of boxing with pace, personality, and stakes throughout the card.

MAIN EVENT
YURIORKIS GAMBOA — Gamboa didn’t come up easy—and he never fought like it. From his rise through the amateurs to becoming a unified world champion, he built his name on speed, confidence, and the ability to take over a fight in moments. He’s shared the ring with top-level competition and continues to bring the same edge, the same explosiveness, and the same mindset that made him one of the most dangerous fighters in boxing. When Gamboa steps in, there’s always a real moment waiting to happen.

GUILLERMO RIGONDEAUX — A two-time Olympic gold medalist and former world champion, Rigondeaux has spent the last decade being regarded as one of the most skilled fighters in the world. His timing, discipline, and ability to control distance have made him one of the most difficult fighters to deal with in boxing. He doesn’t waste movement, doesn’t force anything—he makes opponents fight his fight, and very few have been able to solve it.

UNDERCARD
• Dominique Valera — aggressive, action-driven style
• Christen Biggs (Brooklyn, NY) — rising fighter looking to break through
• Pierre Nance — opportunity to build momentum
• Lucas Dos Santos — international presence and versatility
• Akeem Cheetham — actor and undefeated boxer (1-0), star of TKO on Tubi
• Giovanni Cristian Scuderi — emerging name looking to make a statement
• Nikita Ababiy (“White Chocolate”) — fan-friendly fighter known for sharp combinations and energy
• Peter Peraza — making his professional debut, carrying a strong Miami fan base and an extensive BKFC background, expected to draw significant local attention

Additional bouts will complete the 13-fight lineup.

NOTHING BUT SPORTZ
“We’re focused on building something consistent in boxing — events people can rely on, not one-offs,” said Steven Marcano and Akinyemi Ajayi of Nothing But Sportz. “Havana Heat reflects that. Strong main event, full card, and real content around it.”
