Canadian player Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, 27, of the Oklahoma City Thunder made history on Thursday, March 12, by surpassing Wilt Chamberlain's record from 1963. He scored at least 20 points in his 127th consecutive NBA game during OKC's 104-102 victory over the Boston Celtics.

Alexander was the 2025 MVP and is an NBA champion with the Thunder.

Chamberlain set the record between October 1961 and January 1963, averaging 49.2 points per game, while Alexander has averaged 32.5 points since November 1, 2024.

No other player in NBA history has reached the milestone of 100 consecutive games with 20 or more points, but legends like Oscar Robertson (79), Michael Jordan and Kevin Durant (72), Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (71), Kobe Bryant (63), and LeBron James (49) came close.
