
Oval rules 35th CityHeights slugfest

OVAL Boxing Gym won seven bouts to rule the 35th Foundation Anniversary held last March 10 at the City Heights in General Santos City.
Alabel Boxing team of Sarangani placed second with four wins while Mama Boxing Gym of Lagao got two.
Seven teams had one victory each- Gaballo Boxing Gym [Lagao], Alas Boxing Gym [Fatima], Castillo Boxing team [Surallah, SC], Mar Mar Alta Boxing Team[Calumpang], Pacman Wildcard Gym [Alabel, Sarangani], Abad Boxing Team [SanIsidro] and Johnny Ang Paradise [City Heights].
Oval’s Dave Gapa outpunched AronPatrimonio of Amoy in 46-48kg while stablemate Rovin Floyd Comboy [50-52] crushed Alas’ Jonathan Salazar.
Eighteen-year-old Jay-RKatin [58-60] knocked out Abad’s Adrian Apolinar while DJ Rock Maata [48-50] outslug John Mark Bachinela of Malaluan.
Royce Comboy [44-46] lambasted Aguira’ Ronnie Qupitacio while Klive Nalangay [50-52] beat Mama’sFrans Corpuz.
Shechin Tanghggo [42-44] pummeled Alas’ Davince Cusan.
The tournament was handled by boxing event coordinator Sannie Sombrio with Art Advincula of GSC City Sports.
