REYMOND “Robocop” Yanong of Escalante City is the new Universal Boxing Organization [UBO] Continental welterweight champion.

The 31-year-old Yanong stopped Aphisit Nulae of Thailand in the 5th round for a technical knockout last October 25 at the World Siam Stadium in Bangkapi, Bangkok.

Yanong thrice downed Nulae in the 5th round to improve his record to 12 knockouts with 17 wins against 10 loses and one draw.

“Thank you Lord. I won this game and I trusted him. I didn't let anything go and I focused on my opponent,” said Yanong.

Yanong thanked Brico Santig for giving him the opportunity to fight under Team Highland and Team FCC Boxing Gym.

Nulae, 30, suffered his seventh loss against five wins.

Meanwhile, Elmo “Money Punch” Traya of Cebu failed in his attempt to win the UBO Continental super welterweight title.

Traya bowed to Mahdi Sarbaz of Iran by a 5th round retirement.

Traya suffered his sixth loss against 16 wins while Sarbaz improved his record with five knockouts and six wins against four losses.

Alessio Bisutti, Supanat Chanram, Devrai Das and Brico Santig were the promoters while Naris Singhawungcha was the official in charge.
