Flash Knockdown is recharged, reloaded and better than ever before as Matchroom Boxing’s weekly Podcast officially relaunches.

Fronted by TV presenter Jamie Ward and Scott Hammerton, the new series is back with a bang – and joined by a host of big names.

Matchroom Sport chairman Eddie Hearn takes up his regular, exclusive slot to run through the inner workings at the sport’s No.1 global promotion – providing the latest update on the future of two-time World Heavyweight Champion, Anthony Joshua.

Pat McCormack names the mouth-watering, all-domestic clash he would love to have next as he first targets a statement victory over Mexico’s Miguel Parra in their Eliminator for the WBA World Welterweight Title this weekend in front of his home fans in Sunderland.

With the countdown to Belfast in full flow, things get heated in the studio as rivals Ishmael Davis and Caoimhín Agyarko verbally slug it out before they square-off at the Clearer Twist National Stadium at Windsor Park on Saturday, September 13.

And we hear direct from a man who knows a thing or two about headlining at that very stadium as DAZN analyst Carl Frampton runs the rule over the upcoming, historic all-Irish IBF World Welterweight Championship clash between Lewis Crocker and Paddy Donovan.

Packed with entertainment, unrivalled insight, a new weekly charity quiz, and much more, Flash Knockdown is not to be missed – and episode one is available to download now at audio platforms and free to watch at Matchroom Boxing’s YouTube channel.

SELECTED QUOTES FROM EPISODE ONE

Eddie Hearn:
“As the time ticks by, it’s probably more likely that we see [Anthony Joshua] in the ring again for a January/February date if I’m honest. I don’t think there’s any value in us saying it will be in December. He’s been travelling about a bit but he’s back in training following an elbow operation. But these big fights take time and every AJ event is a massive event. It was well publicised about the meetings that took place in Ghana over the last couple of weeks. There has been an offer to do a fight there and I think it would be incredible for AJ to fight in Africa. However, when you are doing site deals a lot of it depends on when the host wants to stage the show. So, if Ghana comes back and says they’d like to go in January/February, then that’s the offer. I don’t think there’s a rush, albeit he has been out of the ring for almost a year now. Any fight he has next though is likely to be a warm-up fight for that ‘roll the dice’ fight. We hope, in an ideal world, that is Tyson Fury. If not, it will be against one of the top five Heavyweights.”

Ishmael Davis:
“We’ve got a different heart, I show more in and out the ring. The way he’s handled situations, I don’t respect them. I’ve just got to find my way of getting through that and break him [Caoimhín Agyarko] down. A loss doesn’t define me, I don’t think he would have even fought Bohachuk on three months notice. Be prepared to lose on September 13!”

Caoimhín Agyarko:
"I have a dream of becoming the first black Irish World Champion. I’m not sure where these stories are coming from, I sparred him [Ishamel Davis] before with a snapped ligament in my hand. Whether he wants to box or fight, I’ll have a game plan on the night. Do I believe I have the ability to go out and make it my easiest fight? Yes.”

Pat McCormack:
“Miguel is tough, experienced and been in some good fights but I’m flying the flag for the North East and there’s no injuries now. I’m feeling good and ready to go. The Conah Walker fight is the one to make but I’m fully focused on Parra first, he’s a tough lad but my boxing brain and skills will show.”
