
Adrien Broner Hints at Comeback, Pledges 3-5 More Years to Boxing

Former four-division world champion Adrien Broner (35-5-1, 24 KOs), 36, has hinted at a potential return to the ring, just over a year after his last professional bout. Broner, who lost his most recent fight to Blair Cobbs in June 2024 in Hollywood Beach, Florida, took to social media to express his renewed commitment to the sport that made him a superstar.
Once considered one of boxing's brightest talents and a possible successor to Floyd Mayweather Jr., Broner captured world championships from the super featherweight to the welterweight divisions since making his professional debut in May 2008. His last major fight was a memorable welterweight title challenge against Manny Pacquiao in 2019 for the WBA regular belt.
Throughout his career, Broner has faced a who's who of elite fighters, including Manny Pacquiao, Marcos Maidana, Mikey Garcia, Shawn Porter, Paulie Malignaggi, and Jessie Vargas, among many others. His name became synonymous with both undeniable talent and significant media attention, often stemming from his well-documented personal struggles. Broner's legal issues have included a 2020 arrest for driving under the influence of alcohol and a probation violation in August 2021 that resulted in a six-day jail sentence. He is also remembered for an announced fight against former world champion Omar Figueroa, which he later withdrew from, citing mental health issues.
In a recent post on social media, Broner delivered a strong message to his followers and the boxing world, stating, "I'm going to dedicate my life to boxing for the next 3-5 years! If you're with me, I love you... if not, screw you!"
While this is not an official announcement of a comeback fight, the statement has ignited expectations for the return of yet another former champion. Broner's potential return creates intriguing possibilities and conversations within the boxing world, as fans wonder if the enigmatic star can once again find the form that once made him a formidable force.
