Renowned strength and conditioning coach Alex Ariza has thrown his full support behind undefeated prospect Kenneth Llover ahead of the latter's showdown against former two-division world champion Luis Concepcion on August 17 at the Winford Resort and Casino in Manila.

Ariza, whose résumé includes world champions like Manny Pacquiao, Floyd Mayweather Jr., Amir Khan, and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., had previously stepped away from the sport until he received a call to train the General Trias, Cavite, native.

“He is good. He is young and raw; he only has 14 fights. Obviously, we can see the Pacquiao influence on him—the movement, the speed, and he has great power. It is going to be a road ahead of us, but there is a lot of potential. He has an exciting, fan-favorite style,” said Ariza.

Llover has drawn international attention following back-to-back first-round knockouts in Japan. As interests poured in, Gerry Peñalosa of Gerrypens Promotions inked a three-bout deal with Japan’s Kameda Promotions that included a world title shot for the 22-year-old.

Llover’s upcoming fight is promoted by Gerrypens Promotions and Kameda Promotions and co-presented by Winford Resort and Casino. The show will simultaneously air live and free on One Sports, One Sports Plus, Pilipinas Live, and Abema TV in Japan.

Ariza, who now resides in the Philippines, emphasized his commitment to guiding Llover’s rise to world championship status.

“He is young right now, so he doesn’t complain about anything,” Ariza said.

“He doesn’t mind getting up early, and he doesn’t mind what we feed him. The entire team is here and we’re putting the same focus into Kenneth as we did when we started moving Manny up in weight. It’s the same team.”

With Ariza at his side and a world title shot on the horizon, Kenneth Llover’s journey is quickly becoming one of the most compelling stories in Philippine boxing.
