VERONA, N.Y. (June 7, 2025) – Rising American heavyweight contender Brandon Moore (18-1, 10 KOs) retained his USBA Heavyweight Championship in the main event of “Hall of Fame Fight Night” presented by Salita Promotions and ALL THE SMOKE FIGHT live on DAZN at the Turning Stone Resort Casino.
In a highly anticipated heavyweight tilt, Moore faced undefeated Stanley Wright (14-1, 11 KOs). A top contender in Salita Promotions’ heavyweight stable, Moore scored a second round knockdown over Wright. Moore sustained a cut above his eye from an accidental clash of heads in the third round, causing the fight being stopped in the fifth round and going to the judges’ scorecards. Moore secured the victory via unanimous decision, extending his winning streak to four.
In her promotional debut, former Undisputed Women’s Super Middleweight World Champion Franchón Crews-Dezurn (10-2, 2 KOs) put her Unified Super Middleweight Championship status on the line against Citlalli Ortiz (4-2, 1 KO) in the evening’s co-main event. Representing Mexico in the 2024 Olympic Games, Ortiz went toe-to-toe against the towering Crews-Dezurn in an action-packed matchup. Closing the distance throughout the fight, Norfolk, Va.’s Crews-Dezurn successfully defended her WBC and WBA Super Middleweight titles via majority decision.
One of Salita Promotions’ brightest prospects, Joshua James Pagan (13-0, 4 KOs) returned to the ring for the second time in 2025 against the surging James Bernadin (13-3-1, 6 KOs). With both competitors trading blows, Pagan showcased his experience in the later rounds, earning a unanimous decision victory and breaking Bernadin’s three fight win streak.
In the second televised bout of the night, Wendy Toussaint (17-3, 7 KOs) collided against the formerly undefeated Joseph Hicks Jr. (12-1, 8 KOs). Fighting out of Huntington, N.Y. via Haiti, Toussaint pushed the pace against the four-time amateur national champion, landing the stronger shots throughout the bout. After ten competitive rounds, Toussaint claimed a majority decision victory, handing Hicks Jr. his first loss and becoming the USBA Junior Middleweight Champion.
Kicking off the action on the main card, Puerto Rico’s first women’s Olympian boxer, Ashleyann Lozada (2-0, 1 KO) had a quick night in the office as she saw her hand raised following a first round TKO victory over Houston’s Carmen Vargas (5-4-1). In the opening minute of the bout, Lozada overwhelmed Vargas with a barrage of punches, proving to be an undeniable upcoming force in the women’s super bantamweight division.
Prior to the DAZN-televised portion of the event, fan-favorite Bryce Mills (19-1, 7 KOs) squared off against Hialeah, Fla.’s Aaron Aponte (12-3-1, 3 KOs). After making his walkout which caused an eruption from the Verona, N.Y. crowd, Liverpool, N.Y.’s Mills registered a first round knockout after landing a counter right hook. Recently signed to Salita Promotions, Brooklyn’s Pryce Taylor (8-0, 6 KOs) continued his dominant campaign in the heavyweight division scoring a fourth round TKO victory against Ed Fountain (14-9, 7 KOs). This outing marks his third straight finish in 2025. In the first fight of the night, “Motor City” Detroit’s fast rising prospect Da’Velle Smith (12-0, 8 KOs) shined against Atlanta’s Antonio Todd (17-13, 1 NC, 9 KOs), securing a unanimous decision victory following a tactical performance from the Michigan native (78-74, 77-75, 77-75.)

USBA HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP – 10 ROUNDS

“I wish this fight wasn’t stopped. I wanted to get him out of there. You saw that knockdown in the second round. It was only a matter of time. I knew he was going to get up because he is a fighter, but I’m just surprised the referee didn’t stop the fight. He did not look good. I want to go through the long rounds and get that experience. But a win is a win and I’m in the point in my career where I need to take care of myself and everyone knew I was going to win that fight.”

Pagan: “Bernadin had a tricky style. He used the Philly Shell, so I had to figure out a way to deal with that. He countered pretty good off it too. I had to be cautious. He came out really aggressive in some rounds, and I needed to adjust.”
“My jab and straight rights were working. I can tell he was getting frustrated in there. I just needed to stay moving to his weak side and utilize my jab.”
“Once he had his flurry of punches, I noticed he stepped back a little bit and it was my turn to throw a flurry of punches. I got my punches off and I started to move and out box him.”
“This was a great victory to have in front of this big crowd. I met Mauricio Sulaimán and Roy Jones Jr. and they had nothing but great things to say to me. It was an honor.”
USBA JUNIOR MIDDLEWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP– 10 ROUNDS

“I know was stronger than him in there. He threw some punches but nothing that could hurt me. He didn’t have the power to hurt me. When you have an opponent like him who can move, it can be challenging but I fought through it.”
