Panama City enjoyed an exciting night of world-class boxing this past Saturday, May 17th, and expressed its gratitude to Uruguayan promoter Sampson Lewkowicz and Panamanian promoter Carlos González, who had the vision to promote and present the development of the "Tierra de Campeones" gymnasium in conjunction with the "Buen Gobierno" of former President Laurentino "Nito" Cortizo.

Experienced boxing agent and boxing superfan Raúl Cortizo Cohen (President Cortizo's brother) was the main liaison in helping to build the largest and most modern boxing gym in Latin America and one of the best in the world at the public level.

Likewise, there is great expectation that these boxing entrepreneurs will continue to promote boxing in Panama and forge an alliance with the "Paso Firme" government of President José Raúl Mulino.
