Sampson Boxing returns to Panama with a mega world boxing night

Sampson Boxing will host a mega global boxing night with 10 fights next Saturday, May 17th, at the state-of-the-art Tierra de Campeones Atheyna Bylon gym on the Cinta Costera in Panama City. This gym is part of the project initiated by passionate Uruguayan promoter Sampson Lewkowicz, who conceived the "Sembrando Campeones" (Sowing Champions) project, which has included a silver medal for local hero Atheyna Bylon, a "Clean and Contactless Boxing" project for children and adolescents, event cards in Panama City, support for Panamanian boxing with sports equipment from its "Rival" brand, and opportunities for various Isthmus boxers to appear in major arenas around the world.

Undefeated local sensation José "El Magnífico" Núñez 29 years old (17-0-2, 7 KOs) will return after 17 months against Argentine Alfredo "Koki" Soto (15-1, 10 KOs) for the World Boxing Association (WBA) Fedelatin lightweight title.

Panamanian-Nicaraguan super welterweight and 2024, panamanian Fighter of the Year Harvin "Manimal" Aguirre (14-0, 10 KOs) will face Mexican Saith Colin Fuentes (5-4-2, 2 KOs) in an eight-round bout.

Undefeated Panamanian super prospect Jonathan Miniel, 28-year old, (8-0, 7 KOs) will return against fellow countryman Josuè Alvarado (4-2, 1 KO) in a six-round bout at 145 pounds.

Promising 32-year-old Colombian Leonardo Carrillo (19-1-1, 9 KOs) will defend his WBA Fedelatin Super Bantamweight Championship against Mexican Luis Robles Pacheco (15-3-1, 5 KOs) in a ten-round bout.

Veteran and consistent Venezuelan-Panamanian former world champion Liborio Solís (37-7-1, 18 KOs) will face Argentine Héctor "La Máquina" Sosa (17-3, 9 KOs) in a 10-round bout at 127 pounds.

Local prospects Ángel Bethancourt (6-0, 5 KOs) and Héctor "Pitbull" Ortega (3-2-2, 2 KOs) will face off for the prestigious national flyweight title.

In the lightweight division, Panamanian main event favorite Orlando "El Virus" Mosquera (15-4-1, 3 KOs) will face the seasoned veteran and former double world champion Nehomar Cermeño (27-10-1, 16 KOs) in an eight-round bout.

In the heavyweight division, Cuban star Yunior "Bronco Man" Menéndez (11-1, 8 KOs) will face the feisty Panamanian Abelardo Gonzalez (4-4, 4 KOs) in a six-round bout.
